Greetings and Welcome to the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc., Oakland Bay Area Chapter’s 20th Annual Women’s Empowerment Forum. It is my pleasure to invite you to join us on Friday, April 6th at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis for our Annual Madam C.J. Walker Recognition & Empowerment Forum. This year’s theme is: “Honoring the Past, Treasuring the Present, Shaping the Future”.
We will host a morning conference featuring emerging and established leaders from dedicated partners addressing key areas of expertise that affect a diverse segment of women. Attendees will have access to four 50 minute leadership track workshops followed by a networking reception at 11:00 a.m. and the 20th Madam C. J. Walker Business and Community Recognition Awards luncheon at 11:30 a.m.
Additionally, the Networking Business Expo will run through the duration of the conference, highlighting the opportunities of African American Women Owned Businesses from across the Bay Area. Our signature program, “Positive Steps”, provides young women ages 12–17 the opportunity to recognize their full potential through educational, developmental, and cultural programs focusing in the areas of health and wellness, careers, leadership and personal development. Every year we award scholarships for high school graduates and continuing college students, as well as “Working Women” scholarships to low-to-moderate income women who are returning to college to complete their education that increase opportunities for their families. The Oakland Bay Area Chapter of NCBW launched “Sistahs Getting Real About HIV/AIDS” program in sponsoring billboards and community forum throughout to promote education and awareness about knowing your status. This program has expanded and now serves as a model for our national organization throughout the United States. In addition, we also host “My Sister’s Keeper” Boot Camp to Financial Freedom, which now embodies our Economic Empowerment Program.
We are committed to empowering, advocating and educating our community with your support. We look forward to your attendance at our Forum. For more information, please contact Cathy Adams of CDA Consulting Group at (510) 653-4085 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
